The Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) will run
additional bus services from Bangalore to various places in view of
Gowri-Ganesha festival. These extra schedules would be run from
different parts of the city in an effort to de-congest Kempegowda Bus
Station, and will be in addition to the existing schedules.
The KSRTC, on Tuesday, will operate 100 buses from Mysore Road Satellite bus station exclusively towards Mysore routes, 100 buses will start from BMTC Bus Station at Shantinagar towards Madurai, Kumbakkonam, Tiruchirapalli, Chennai, Coimbatore and other places in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh. Besides, KSRTC will operate 300 special buses from Kempegowda Bus Station to Dharmastala, Kukke Subramanya, Shimoga, Hassan, Davangere, Hubli, Belgaum, Bijapur, Raichur, Gulbarga, Bellary and other places. On Wednesday, 100 special buses will be operated from the Kempegowda Bus Station to different destinations according to the traffic needs, a KSRTC press release added. Only special services, which are identified for advance reservation, towards Hubli, Dharwad, Belgaum, Bijapur, Gokarna, Sirsi, Karwar etc, are being operated from Mysore Road Satellite Bus station. During these two days special buses of Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation will stop at Jakkarayanakere. Additional traffic and security staff have been deployed to Kempegowda Bus Station, Shanthinagar Bus Station and Mysore Road Satellite Bus Station, the release added. Commuters can reserve tickets for the special and scheduled buses of KSRTC through 123 counters in Bangalore city, 12 counters in Mysore and 14 counters in Mangalore and other 103 computerised reservation counters of KSRTC located at other places in the State along with those established in centres outside Karnataka. KSRTC has provided details of special operations such as place and timings of departure in the computer advance reservation network and also on its website. User reviews
