Delay in revaluation hampers careers in Bangalore
Written by newsreporter

Delayed results, erratic answerscripts evaluation, lack of communication, no fixed calendar of events, teachers boycott, inactive student grievance cell.

These are complaints that resurface year after year at the Bangalore University Examination Department. Since the inception of the semester scheme for undergraduate courses, the evaluation and revaluation process for instance, has even got worse, severely hampering the career growth of students.

The Semester Scheme for the Under Graduate Courses at Bangalore University comprises of six main exams and six supplementary exams which has become cumbersome for the students as well as the teachers. Students who have completed the 6th semester UG examinations are worst hit as they have to wait for their final results and the revaluation results of previous
semesters.

Students awaiting the results also don’t have a fixed calendar of events to rely upon. Faculty crunch, growing number of applications for revaluation, interdepartmental issues are often cited as reasons. Besides, till the proposed trifurcation of the University comes into effect, the BU department has to cater to the enormous load from nearly 700 affiliated colleges.
