The BJP has emerged as the most preferred party in the 2008 Assembly elections in Karnataka. The only party to contest all the 224 Assembly seats, the BJP won 110 of them. Now, the party has no choice but to turn the independents into king-makers.The Congress has managed to get 80 seats of the 222 it contested and the JD(S) has won a meagre 28 seats of the 219 seats it had fought.
