The BMTC on Sunday added to its Vayu Vajra (Volvo) bus services to the Bengaluru International Airport in Devanahalli. The new service — from Padmanabhanagar to the airport — was flagged off by transport minister R Ashok.
Five buses will ply on the new route (BIAS-11). The buses will pass through Banashankari 3rd Stage, Vijayanagar, Basaveshwaranagar, Malleswaram, Mehkri Circle and Hebbal, before hitting Bellary Road. Dastagir Sharief, chief traffic manager (operations), said the new buses will ply once every hour.

The BMTC also launched a Volvo service between Padmanabhanagar (route V-12B/11) and Kempe Gowda bus station in Majestic, covering points including the Banashankari BDA complex and Cauvery Bhavan on the way. This apart, five ordinary services were inaugurated on Sunday.
