No compromise: Congress

A day before the crucial UPA-Left meeting on the Indo-US nuclear deal, the Congress on Tuesday asserted itself, saying that there was no question of any compromise on the agreement.
The party made it clear that it would request the Left to “please” let the government go ahead with the IAEA and NSG negotiations.According to a Congress leader, there has to be only one final decision: either for or against the deal and obviously, the leading UPA partner will choose the former.

Depending on the all-important Wednesday evening meeting, UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will jointly take a “political call” after the discussions with the Left. “We are for the deal, and the Left has to tell us its position once and for all,” highly placed Congress sources said.
