Yeddyurappa to assume office on Friday

BJPs B S Yeddyurappa will take oath as Karnataka chief minister at 1:50 pm on May 30.The BJP’s chief ministerial nominee, on Tuesday, received a formal invitation to form the government from Governor Rameshwar Thakur.The invitation came soon after the Union Cabinet decided to revoke the President’s rule in the State on Thakur’s recommendation.
Speculation was rife that Yeddyurappa would have the following in his ministry: Jagadeesh Shettar, Revunaik Belamagi, K S Eshwarappa, D H Shankaramurthy, R Ashok, G Karunakara Reddy, A Narayanaswamy, Aravind Limbavali, Suresh Kumar, Lakshman Savadi, C M Udasi, Shobha Karandlaje, Govind Karjol, Sriramulu, S A Ravindranath, B N Bachche Gowda and the Independents.

Besides, Mumtaz Ali Khan, who is the State BJP vice-president, is also likely be made minister, with a view to give representation to minorities.Sources said the party is likely to accommodate most of those who were ministers in the previous JD(S)-BJP government, in the new ministry.There is also speculation that Udasi might be offered the speaker’s post.
