Pakistan overhauled India's imposing 308 for seven comfortably, with Younis Khan leading the way with a brilliantly-paced fifth one-day hundred at the National stadium in Karachi on Wednesday.
The crucial India-Pakistan match had an uncanny resemblance to a long-distance running competition. Just like those runners both India and Pakistan started off the block with their shoulders together, but the latter gathered more wind during the course the match to touch the tape first.Pakistan overhauled India's imposing 308 for seven comfortably, with Younis Khan leading the way with a brilliantly-paced fifth one-day hundred at the National stadium in Karachi on Wednesday. The eight-wicket win also gave them a glimmer of hope entering the Asia Cup final.
Much has been written about the fighting spirit of Pakistan in the face of adversity, but the subject still has not entirely become a cliché as the volatile side has time and again stirred your conscience, enacting another chapter in that unending saga.Nobody reflected their unquenchable spirit better than Younis. His push-ups after reaching a brilliant hundred that he made batting over an hour under oppressive conditions was a telling statement of his and team's desire to travel that extra yard.
